13. A few autobiographical questions, for the record: I know you were born and grew up in California, and had a legendarily "precocious" young career out there as a writer. What were your experiences as a poet in Los Angeles, and how do they contrast with what you've found out here? Who was important to you then, and what were your goals? What brought you to New York in the first place? Has the trip been worthwhile? Did you enjoy your flight? Have your ideas changed significantly since coming to New York? Also, tell us something about what it's like being married to a poet, and the sort of collaborative work you've done either as a poet or the publishers/editors of Object. Since you started writing when quite young, do you find it easy or satisfying to create works with others? |
